The birth of the German clock-making industry officially took place in 1845 in “Glashütte” in Saxony, starting with apprenticeships of many young talents.
The origins of the watch-making industry however are to be found centuries before in the production of glass products. In this historical “Glashütte” region the businessman Bruno Söhnle from Wurmberg founded his own watch atelier in the year 2000.
The aim was, and still is, to offer the art of German watch-making in combination with high-quality materials and fair prices. Up to this point, Bruno Söhnle had much experience in producing and distributing watches and clocks of all types, as he started in the watch-making company belonging to his brother when he was 17 years old.
“My best time began with this step” said Bruno Söhnle after founding the new brand, not knowing that this was to be his slogan for the future. The “Facetta 1957” is the last watch he personally co-produced. Today the company “Bruno Söhnle” belongs to the Swatch Group.
