34 years after its foundation in 1891 in Schramberg in the Black Forest by Erhard Junghans, this company was the largest watch company in the world. In 1918 the company was described as one of the most modern workplaces of the time, which led to many highly qualified clockmakers flocking to the small town of Schramberg in the Black Forest. Due to the know-how regarding many functional technologies, the clock manufactory became the largest manufacturer of chronometers in Germany in the 1950s and thus the third largest in the world.
This success was mainly due to the technical knowledge of wristwatches, the clear designs that had developed well over the years and the motivation of the employees, which came from the heart.
Each movement from the Schramberg manufactory is unique and unmistakable. Whether Tourbillion, perpetual calendar or calendar week function - nothing is too complex for the watches from this house. Each individual ladies' or men's watch is accompanied in its creation by a highly qualified quality management and an experienced watchmaker, who is then responsible for the result.
The company recently received the "Red Dot Award" for the "max bill Automatic" watch. In 2011, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of "Junghans", several limited edition models were produced and models of older designs were re-introduced.
