In 1874, Georges-Edouard Piaget, a watchmaker based in the small village of La-Côte-aux-Fées in the Swiss Jura, opened a small workshop to produce high-precision movements for watchmakers. With his ambition to constantly surpass himself, Piaget succeeded in making a name for himself in many parts of the country. In 1911, his son joined the company and Piaget began producing wristwatches and distributing them worldwide. Due to the great demand for haute horlogerie, another manufactory was founded to develop new ideas.
The company Piaget created the slimmest automatic movement in the world as well as extremely flat watches with self-winding mechanism. Piaget then established itself as a leading manufacturer of men's watches and at the same time began to develop fashion watches for women. This line became very popular, also thanks to Piaget's pioneering spirit and the creativity of its designers.
Today, Piaget is present in 84 countries with numerous boutiques and points of sale. The most famous model names and collections are Possession, Limelight, Altiplano, Black Tie and Miss Protocole.
